What Our Packing Service Includes
You can choose how much help you want. Our full packing service covers your whole home, room by room. Our team brings boxes, tape, paper, bubble wrap and blankets, so you do not need to buy or collect anything. We pack kitchens, wardrobes, books, lamps and pictures, and we wrap furniture to keep it free from scratches.
If you would rather do most of the packing yourself, you can book us for fragile items only. This is a popular choice for people who want to save money but do not want to risk their glasses, china, mirrors and art. We wrap each fragile item on its own, fill the gaps in each box and mark it clearly so it is handled with care.
We can also take apart large furniture such as beds, wardrobes and tables, and put them back together at your new home. Screws and fittings go into labelled bags, so nothing goes missing. If you need it, we can unpack at the other end and take the empty boxes and paper away with us. This means you can start to settle in on the very first night.
How Packing Day Works with Elite Moving
Before the day, we ask about the size of your home, any high-value or unusual items, and the access at both ends. This helps us bring the right number of packers and the right amount of materials. For most homes, we pack the day before the move or early on moving day. For larger homes, we may plan more time. We will confirm the plan with you before the day.
On the day, our packers work through your home one room at a time. Every box is labelled with the room it is going to and a short note of what is inside. We keep a list of boxes as we go, so you can check that everything has arrived. Anything you want to keep with you, such as keys, papers and chargers, we leave to one side.
Once a room is done, we stack the boxes neatly so they are ready to load. Our movers then load the van with heavy items at the bottom and fragile boxes on top. If your things are going into storage for a while, we pack them so they stay clean and dry until you need them. Each box is closed with strong tape and marked on the side as well as the top.
Tips to Get Ready for Our Packers
A little planning makes packing day go faster. Clear out anything you do not want to take with you before we arrive, so we only pack what you need. Empty the fridge and freezer, and use up food where you can. Put aside any items you plan to carry yourself, such as passports, jewellery and medicine.
Make sure we can get in and out easily. Clear the hall and stairs, and let us know about parking at both homes. If you live in a flat, check if you need to book the lift. Keep pets and young children in a quiet room while we work, as this keeps everyone safe and lets our team get on quickly.
Let us know about anything that needs extra care, such as a piano, antiques, artwork or a large TV. For very high-value items, our white glove service gives an even higher level of care. To book our packing service, call 07428474474 or 02080444474, or email info@elitemoving.co.uk, and we will help you choose the right option for your move.
Packing Service FAQ: Questions About Our Packers
Do I need to buy my own boxes if I book your packing service?
No. When you book our packing service, our team brings everything needed to pack your home. That includes strong boxes, tape, packing paper, bubble wrap and furniture blankets. Using the right materials helps keep your things safe on the road, and it saves you the time of finding boxes yourself.
Can you pack just my fragile items?
Yes. Many customers pack their own clothes and books but ask us to pack the fragile items. We wrap glasses, plates, mirrors, pictures and ornaments one by one, fill the gaps in each box and mark it as fragile. This means the most delicate things are in trained hands, while your costs stay lower.
Will you unpack my boxes at my new home?
We can. Unpacking is an extra you can add when you book. Our team will unpack your boxes, put items where you want them and take the empty boxes and paper away. Many customers find this helps them settle in much faster, most of all in the kitchen.
Is your packing service only for local moves?
No. We pack for local moves around Croydon and Sutton, moves across the UK, and moves to Europe and further abroad. For long trips, we use extra layers of wrapping and strong boxes that can cope with lots of handling. We can also pack items going into storage.
How should I get my home ready for the packers?
Set aside anything you want to keep with you, such as passports, keys, medicine and chargers, and put it in one room or your car. Empty the fridge and freezer. Tell us about anything that must not be packed. Clear a path to the door, and let us know if parking near your home is tight.

I had an amazing experience with Elite Moving. They really saved my life. I had an emergency and needed to move within the week without ToR and Vijithan worked late the night that I got in touch to get it all sorted out, and remained in contact the entire time. The move itself went smoothly, and all my goods arrived 2 days after in tact. Definitely recommend!
Had a smooth transfer from Woolwich to my new place. The staff were swift and careful in moving my things. The truck was really spacious and could fit even big appliances. Highly recommended and would make use of their service again in the future.
I’m usually skeptical when I see overly positive reviews, but with Elite Moving, the 5-star rating is genuinely deserved. I have almost nothing to complain about.
First, their responsiveness is exceptional—they reply to requests almost immediately, even on Sundays or late in the evening. Second, their flexibility is impressive; they work hard to accommodate your needs, making the stressful process of moving much easier.
I recently used Elite Moving to transport belongings from a storage unit in London to Luxembourg. They offered a very fair price and arranged the move date almost immediately. I appreciated that they allowed me to pay a small deposit upfront and settle the remaining balance upon delivery.
Maybe I was not the easiest customer to deal with since I had so many questions and concerns about importing items from the UK to the EU post-Brexit, but none of this was an issue. Vijithan from Elite Moving was incredibly patient and addressed all my concerns with professionalism.
A big thank you to the team for the excellent job they did. I highly recommend Elite Moving, and if I ever need to move to or from the UK again, I know exactly who to contact.
Elite Moving were excellent throughout. Vijithan super helpful on the phone and email, Ranjan and his team quick, professional and kind on the day. I fully recommend and would use again.
Elite Moving was really helpful with our move, super flexible and very reasonably priced. They are very friendly and did everything we asked without any complaints. Super professional service and I would definitely recommend there’s guys to anyone!! 😊
Amazing team. Worked tirelessly and so professional always smiling. Could not do enough to make the process and stress free as possible! Absolutely superb
