Monaco is small, busy and built on a steep hillside. Streets are often narrow, parking is tight and traffic can be heavy, mainly during big events. Because of this, good planning matters more here than in most places. Before your move, we look at the route, the parking near your building and the best time of day to arrive.
If a full-size lorry cannot reach your door, we can use a smaller van to shuttle your things from the lorry to the building. This takes a little longer, but it keeps your goods safe and avoids blocking busy roads. We will tell you in advance if your move needs this, so there are no surprises on the day.
It also helps to avoid dates when major events close roads or fill the city with visitors. If you have some choice over your moving date, ask us which weeks tend to be easier. We will work with you to find a time that suits both you and your building.
Start by deciding what you will take with you. Homes in Monaco are often smaller than houses in the UK, so measure your new rooms and check that large sofas and wardrobes will fit. Selling or storing pieces that will not fit can save money and space on the lorry.
Book your move as early as you can. This gives time to sort building permits, lift bookings and customs forms. It also gives you more choice of dates. If your new home will not be ready when you leave the UK, we can keep your things in secure storage until you are ready for them.
Gather your documents early, including passports, proof of address and any residency papers. Keep these, along with keys, medicine and valuables, with you rather than on the lorry. If you are not sure what you need, call us on 07428474474 or 02080444474 and we will talk you through it.
Many homes in Monaco are flats in tall buildings on steep, narrow streets. We check the building before moving day, including the lift size, loading areas and any rules on times. If a large lorry cannot get close, we use a smaller van for the last stretch. Very large items may need to be taken apart first.
Often, yes. Many apartment buildings in Monaco ask residents to book the lift or the loading bay for a move. Some also have set hours when moves are allowed. Ask your building manager or concierge about the rules early, then share them with us. We will plan our arrival time around them.
Yes. We offer a white glove service for fragile and high-value items such as art, antiques and fine furniture. We use extra padding, custom wrapping and careful handling at every stage. Tell us about these pieces when you ask for a quote, so we can plan the right packing and the right number of people.
Monaco is not an EU member, but it is part of the EU customs area through France. In practice, goods moving from the UK usually go through French customs rules. You will need an inventory and personal documents. Rules can change, so check the current position before you move, and we will help with the forms.
