Most of our moves to Norway leave from our base in Wallington, near Croydon. We collect from your home anywhere in London, Surrey or further afield, then drive to the coast and cross by ferry. From there, the lorry heads north through Europe or takes a ferry route that suits your new address.
Because Norway is long and has many fjords, the last part of the trip can take longer than people expect. We plan the route with care and tell you in good time when to expect us. If your new home is in a remote area, we may use a smaller vehicle for the final drop, so we can reach your door.
On a dedicated move, your things stay on the same lorry from start to finish. That means less handling and less risk of damage. On a shared move, your things travel with other customers' goods, which keeps the cost down but can take a little longer.
Norway is not part of the EU, so every move from the UK passes through customs. This is not hard, but it does need the right papers. You will usually need a full list of the things you are sending, a copy of your passport, and proof that you are moving there to live, such as a work contract or a rental deal.
Used household goods that you have owned for a while can often come in without duty. Some items, like alcohol, new goods and vehicles, can have extra rules. Rules change, so always check the latest advice from Norwegian customs before your moving date.
We help you build the inventory as we pack, so the list matches what is on the lorry. If customs ask any questions at the border, we deal with them for you and keep you updated.
Start by sorting out what you really want to take. Norwegian homes often have good storage and many come with white goods, so check what your new place has before you ship a fridge or washing machine. Selling or giving away things you do not need cuts the size of your load and the cost.
Winters in Norway are cold and dark, and snow can make access hard. If you are moving in the colder months, keep warm clothes and boots in your own bags, not on the lorry. Ask your new landlord or agent about parking and snow clearing near the door on the day we arrive.
If you need help, our packing service can wrap everything or just the fragile items. If your new home is not ready yet, we can hold your things in our secure storage until it is. Call us on 07428474474 to talk through your plans.
Some people move to one Norwegian city first and then on to a second home a few months later. We can help with that too. If your things are in our storage, we can deliver them to whichever address you end up at, so you do not have to move everything twice yourself.
Moves within Norway often mean long drives, steep hills and ferry links between towns. We plan these jobs the same way we plan a move from the UK, with a clear date, a list of your things and a team that wraps and protects every item. Ask us for a quote and tell us both addresses, and we will plan the best way to do it.
Usually not, if you are moving there to live and the things are your own used household goods. Norway is outside the EU, so customs still checks what comes in. You will usually need a list of your things and proof of your move. Check the current rules with Norwegian customs before you go.
Yes. If you only have some boxes or a few pieces of furniture, a shared or part-load move is often the best choice. Your things travel with other customers' goods, so you only pay for the space you use. For a full house, a dedicated lorry is usually better.
We deliver to big cities such as Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim, and to smaller towns too. Some homes near the fjords or up in the north have steep or narrow roads. Tell us about access at your new address so we can plan the right vehicle.
Keep passports, travel papers, keys, medicines and anything you need in the first few days with you. Bank cards, work laptops and family papers are best kept close too. Everything else, from beds to kitchen items, can go in the lorry, packed and labelled by our team.
